An unprecedented group of health and social care leaders have written an open letter to the Prime Minister, published today in the Daily Mail, calling for him to show leadership on social care reform.
The letter calls on the Prime Minister to personally convene a care summit to lead urgent action to tackle the crisis in social care. The letter comes as the Government prepares to publish a White Paper on social care, and it warns that older and disabled people and their families will not accept any further delay or half measures in reform of care and support.
Alongside Care & Support Alliance members, the signatories include represenatives from social services directors, councillors, health leaders, businesses, charities, employers, social care and housing providers, faith leaders and unions.
