Responding to reports in the media that the Government intend to implement the Dilnot Commission’s reccomendation of a cap on care costs – a key demand of the Alliance, Helena Herklots, spokesperson for the Care and Support Alliance said:

“If today’s media reports are correct and the Prime Minister has committed to a £35,000 care costs cap then it will show that the Government has truly listened to those caught up in the often terrifying vortex of spiralling care costs. A cap on lifetime contributions would represent a game changer in the social care system and give people peace of mind as to what they may have to pay for care in the future.”
