We’ve launched the Big Social Care Review to get a picture of what it has been like needing care since the end of March. Did you get the care you needed? If services were stopped – were they reinstated? If you needed help for the first time were you able to get help?
The survey is open to all those who need care in England. The last time we ran a survey of this kind, in 2018, nearly 4,000 people took part and told us, because of a lack of care:
• Over a third of people had not been able to leave their house,
• Over a quarter of people had not been able to maintain basics like washing, dressing, or visiting the toilet.
• 1 in 5 people missed meals because of a lack of care.
We’re keen to hear from all those that need care, including carers, to get a good picture of people’s experiences. The results will be used as part of our campaigning work to ensure the Government fully funds social care people can get the care they need when they need it.
